John 15:12-17  “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.”

John 15:16  You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.”

There was a choice that pre-dated your choice, and it involved the Creator of the universe choosing you.

His choice had one primary purpose.

Matthew 11:27 NLT  “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.”

Jesus’ purpose in choosing you was firmly rooted in His desire to reveal to you the Father.

By choosing you, revealing the Father to you, He begins he process of recreating you, restoring you, rebuilding you, so that you can be a new you.

Then by choosing you He does something even more remarkable, He stakes His reputation on you which guarantees His involvement in everything He calls you to.

1 Corinthians 1:9  God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

His faithfulness is all around us which is why we can trust Him and His Word.

He constantly points to nature to prove His faithfulness describes the desired outcome He wants for your life.

John 15:16  “…and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain,”

Appointed: to decide on beforehand; pre-arranged; designated.

Upon choosing you, God literally pre-arranged that you would bear fruit.

How different would the past week or month have been if you had actually believed He pre-arranged your blessing, pre-arranged your fruit?

Just because it’s been pre-arranged, doesn’t mean you are prepared to receive it.

Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Matthew 6:9-13  “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’”

Jesus was in the habit of pre-receiving what the Father had pre-arranged.

God tells us what He has pre-arranged for us.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

God’s plan for fruit in your life would be that there would be something for you and something to plant in someone else. We get to eat the good part and plant the seed in someone else.

What does He give?

Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

It’s this fruit in you that first drove people to inquire about HIm.

Your Father chose you! Pre-receive what has been pre-arranged.

His joy is not attached to our circumstances, but His joy changes our circumstances.

Hebrews 11:6  And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
