Philippians 3:10  That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings.
–  the life-long passion of Paul; his guiding principle
–  know Him as the center and anchor of who we need to be
–  having an experiential relationship; not something you know intellectually but one you experience with Him intimately

This was the life-long passion of Paul; this was the guiding principle of his life.

How do we experience Him?
–  in the power of the resurrection; the greatest power that God has ever demonstrated next to creation.
–  in the fellowship of His sufferings, conformable unto death; I want Him to transform and shape me.

My life will not be content until day by day I know Him more, so that I will be day by day more like He is.

The power of God and the resurrection is equal to everything God has done up to this point. Paul wanted to know and experience that power and for it to be the core of who he was.

Easter is the manifestation of the love of God. The tragic part of Easter is that we will go back the next Monday to our lives as they were. You cannot be passionate about Christ and go back to business as usual.

Jesus’ resurrection is the message of the Gospel to declare the power of His resurrection, by our transformed lives, so the lost can see Him in us and give them hope.

If you are around sick people all the time, you don’t know there are healthy people. Our world is sick.

So many of our daily contacts, if they don’t see the power of the resurrection in the way we live, won’t see the power of the resurrection.

God chose to share the gospel through us. I feel so inadequate, but I seek to have Him change me more and more.

The literal resurrection of Jesus matters to your life here and now. It provides power to live victoriously above every circumstance.

Romans 6:4   Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

Resurrection isn’t just being raised when the final trumpet sounds. It is living in the power of His resurrection every day.

Romans 8:11  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

If His spirit lives in you, then you live in the power of the resurrection. It is inside of us now.

The fact of the resurrection will only be persuasive when the effect is undeniable in the daily lives of those who call Him Lord and Savior.

What about my life today is noticeably different because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ?
If our lives are only somewhat different than those around us religiously, then the effect of the resurrection is not going to affect their lives; it’s not going to impact or whet the appetite of the lost to Jesus.

Through changed and empowered lives, we can make a difference in those around us.

1 Corinthians 15:3  For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.

The resurrection is of first importance, it’s foundational to everything else in the Bible.

How different this Easter season would be if we took hold of this reservoir of spiritual power and it transformed us.

Our church is experiencing a rare and unusual season, a grace season. We are experiencing the presence of the Spirit. Don’t take seasons for granted; they are often rare. We can’t just sit back and enjoy the season. It is meant to be an introduction.

Easter is a time to reach out to people who don’t know Jesus and haven’t believed or experienced Him.
