After having completed the walls of Jerusalem and establishing a Godly standard among the people (see the commitments of the people in Nehemiah 10: 28-39) Nehemiah returns to his service in the Kings palace. After a period of time, Nehemiah desires to return once again to Jerusalem. Upon his return, Nehemiah discovers that Tobiah, the enemy of God’s people, has taken up residence in the temple. Nehemiah immediately throws out Tobiah and all of his belongings and reconsecrates the temple. Having tossed out Tobiah and restored the temple, Nehemiah reminds and demands the return to the commitments made in Chapter 10. The three Kingdom principles that follow are an all encompassing guide for Godly living.
